Thin, performant blade geometry, good cutting performer, good edge retention.
I highly recommend!

Compaired to Zdp189, this Hap40 is better balanced in steel alloys, and less brittle. Second best edge retention from japanese steels, and also better blade geometry for excelent cutting performance.
It is also verry well priced for this type of steel. I love it

Nice knife. Fit and finish were excellent.
Given as a gift to a couple who do a lot of hosting.
So far, they're very happy with the knife.

This is fantastic value for money - obviously you need to be aware and deal with the usual Shimogami 1 characteristics but if you are happy to do so, this is a real workhorse in the kitchen
