Saya Petty [knife sheath] - 150mm (5.9")
Saya, a wooden knife sheath protects the knife and its user from damages and injuries. It also keeps the knife sharp and makes it easier to carry around. Its wooden safety pin prevents the knife from falling out. Saya is made of beech wood, a firm yet still soft enough wood, making it more durable and resistant than any leather sheath.
Handmade wooden Saya is made for Petty knives, suitable for blades measuring to up to 150mm (5.9") in length, up to 30mm (1.2") in width and with a thickness of up to 3.5mm (0.14").
PS: We made the hole for the safety pin about the same size as the width of the regular wooden chopsticks (you know, those cheap ones you get with your takeaway). In case you lose the safety pin, you can easily shorten the wooden chopstick and use it as a replacement.
Five stars beautiful
It was ok, granted idk much about what it should be but it seemed a little loose. Like I said idk if there is a reason it's supposed to be like that but that's my opinion
Hi Kendal, thanks for your review and for your purchase.. Indeed, wooden sayas shouldn't have a very snug fit, the blade should move slightly inside it. If it were a tight fit, every time you would insert the blade inside, or pull it out, you would slightly dull the edge because it would be sliding against the inside of the saya. That's why the blade moves a bit inside the wooden saya.
On the other hand, leather sayas can have a tighter fit because leather is softer and more gentle to the edge.
I hope the saya and the knives will serve you well for many years!
