A bench (or dough) scraper is an invaluable kitchen tool for bakers, as well as professional and home cooks. Primarily used by bakers to portion dough, lift it from proofing containers, and scrape work surfaces clean, it has also become a staple in professional and home kitchens as a tool for transferring freshly chopped ingredients to prep bowls and cooking pots.
The Gestura Flexi Bench Scraper combines the flexibility of plastic with the heft and sturdiness of wooden scrapers. It's made from flexible spring steel that bends easily yet snaps back into shape after use. The manufacturers intentionally leave a small burr on the edge of the scraper, which provides a subtle "bite" against the work surface, making it easier to cut dough and separate it from work surfaces.
This scraper is fitted with a natural oak handle that draws inspiration from Japanese knives and provides a comfortable, durable grip. As the handle is made from natural wood, minimally lacquered and fitted without glue, the scraper should be hand-washed only.

Cleaning: Hand-wash only. If you'd like to preserve the patina/grain of the wood, please treat with walnut oil or cutting board oil frequently. Gestura is not using any resins to cure the wood, so drying the scraper metal side down is advised.
