Why use a mandoline when we have knives? Well, the answer is... consistency! Sengiri Super Mandoline slices fruits and veggies into consistently sized pieces that cook evenly and look great.
Take this mandoline for slicing larger veggies (cabbage, eggplant, zucchini...). Mandoline slicer is perfect for creating thin (or thick) slices for everything from salads to stir-fries and it makes prep work quick and easy. A major time-saver!
Mandoline has, next to the straight blade that can be resharpened, three interchangeable blades (blades: coarse, medium and fine tooth) for slicing in either direction.
Thickness can be easily adjusted up to 3 mm. Non-skid base and finger guard ensure safe slicing. Mandoline comes apart for easy cleaning.
☝️ And don't forget to watch your fingers! It is notoriously known as the "finger guillotine" 😳.

but for slicing - there is a big gap in front of the main blade that makes very thin slices hard to get consistent. a pity!

thanks for taking the time and writing a review for the mandolin.
As the name indicates the Sengiri mandolin JUMBO is meant for bigger pieces of vegetables and bigger prep. I assume that the problem occurred when slicing smaller vegetables? For smaller and more delicate tasks/vegetables a smaller mandolin is a more suitable choice. It has a smaller gap, more than 3 mm narrower compared to the JUMBO model.
