The Traditional* Sharpening stone (whetstone) from Japanese producer Naniwa enables fast and efficient sharpening of Japanese knives.
Sharpening stone #6000 is suitable for Japanese and German kitchen knives, razors and carpentry tools. We use it for fine sharpening and removing the burr. For the next step we either recommend using the leather strop to give the blade the final polish, or use the stone as a mid-step between #1000 and #8000 grit.
For easier sharpening, we recommend purchasing a Stone Holder (Sink Bridge) to ensure mess-free and a stable position of the stone during sharpening.
T-360 is a splash-and-go stone.
*Sidenote: Due to market expansion, Naniwa often changes the product name and its packaging - the Naniwa Traditional stone is the same stone as the Naniwa Standard stone, with the same composition and characteristics.

Stone care & maintenance:
Soak the stone if required, keep the surface wet while sharpening, and rinse off slurry after use. Let it air-dry fully before storing. Keep stones flat with regular flattening, and avoid direct heat, freezing temperatures, and long-term soaking unless specified.
A flat sharpening stone is key to consistent sharpening. It helps you maintain the right angle, create an even edge, and sharpen more safely and efficiently. Use a flattening stone regularly to keep the surface even before sharpening.
Keep your sharpening stone performing at its best with the right accessories. Use a stone holder for stable, safer sharpening, and a Nagura dressing stone to refresh the surface, remove steel build-up and create slurry when needed.
