Chopsticks are arguably the most important kitchen utensils in Japan and other parts of Eastern Asia. The short ones are used for eating and the long ones for cooking, serving, decorating, and in various grilling and roasting processes in a similar way as tweezers are used in western cuisine. They are extremely widespread and popular among Japanese professional chefs, where they are indispensable in baking tempura, as they can be used safely and comfortably over a hot stove due to their length.
Kaneka Chopsticks are 305 mm long, made of stainless steel, the handle is made of magnolia and buffalo horn.
Steel or bamboo sticks? The first choice of Japanese chefs is steel, as bamboo can get an unpleasant odor after use. In addition to hygienic reasons, steel chopsticks also have the advantage of having a sharper tip that can be used for stabbing and also helps in roasting meat.
