Knife Description

Teruyasu Fujiwara is a 4th generation blacksmith and the first of his family to start making knives, his ancestors specialized in making swords, like a katana. Fujiwara-San is one of the few master blacksmiths that laminates his own steel to forge sanmai knives completely in-house. This gyuto is from the Maboroshi line, handcrafted from Shirogami#1 with a stainless cladding. Fujiwara uses a particular water quenching technique that allows his Shirogami#1 to harden at an amazing 65 HRC. The customized handle is made with stabilized and dyed redwood burl with mosaic pin rivet.

Imperfections

No imperfections.

About The Maker

My name is Andrea and I’m a 28yo professional cook. Extremely passionate about handcrafted Japanese kitchen knives and I'm in the rabbit hole like many of us.
