Hasegawa’s soft cutting boards are top of the line cutting boards which are especially well suited for use with Japanese kitchen knives. This cutting board is light and easy-to-handle and at the same time sturdy and won’t bend when weighed down heavily. 

This board’s plastic surface is a great substitute for wood due to its similar characteristics: the soft surface is easy on the knives’ blades, resulting in longer edge retention. Harder plastic cutting boards usually don’t mix well with the harder steels that Japanese blades are forged from and can sometimes cause them to chip. The surface of this board is non-slippery, which improves cutting performance and reduces the risk of injury.
